Hotel AccomodationsThe NCPMA has reserved a block of guest rooms at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel and Convention Center (pictured above) in Research Triangle Park, NC. Guest room reservations are the individual responsibility of conference attendees. To make your reservations, call the hotel directly at (919) 941-5050 or Sheraton Central Reservations at (800) 325-3535 and be sure to identify yourself as an NCPMA conference attendee to receive the group rate of $109.00 per night (plus 13% in sales and occupancy taxes) for single or double standard occupancy accomodations. The group rate will be offered until September 11, 2006. After that date, accomodations will be subject to room and rate availability. It is strongly suggested that you make your room reservations early, as October is the busiest month of the year at this property. The Sheraton Imperial is located at Exit 282 (Page Road) off of I-40 in RTP. (map) |

President's ReceptionAgain this year at the President's Reception on Wednesday night, we will have a Map Gallery along with good music and lots of fun. The poster session will give conference attendees an opportunity to display their maps and to view what others around the state are creating. Bring a sample of your work and show it off! If you are interested in participating, contact Julie Stamper. Two awards will be given: one for "best analytical map" and one for "best cartographic design".Any types of maps are fine, the only restriction is that they be no larger than 36"x36". (If you have a special product that is larger than this, talk to Julie and something may be able to be worked out for you.) If you're working toward your GISP Designation, remember that participating in a poster session is worth 1 point and an additional point if you win an award! |
