NCPMA-Sponsored Certification--Senior Mapper
To be a certified as a Senior Mapper, a person must:
- Be a Regular member in good standing of the North Carolina Property Mappers Association;
- Have been certified as a Mapper for not less than 2 years;
- Have taken the course on Fundamentals of Listing and Assessing at the Institute of
Government and received a passing score on the examination given at the conclusion of that course;
- Passed an advanced examination on mapping prepared by the Certification Board.
Fees
- A certification fee of $25.00 must accompany an application for certification as Senior Mapper. Checks should be
made out to "Treasurer , N.C.P.M.A." and mailed with the application to the chair of the certification committee.
Applications for Senior Mapper must be submitted at least two weeks prior to the Senior Mapper exam date.
Re-certification
- Once having been certified as a Senior Mapper, a person retains that certification so long as he or she is a member
in good standing of the North Carolina Property Mappers Association and is employed by an agency of local or state government
and for a period of two years after such employment ends. If a certified person is not employed by an agency of local or
state government for more than two years, the certification lapses, and such person must seek re-certification if he or she
is again employed in a mapping position by a governmental agency. For re-certification, mappers must take and pass the
examination.
Evidence of Certification
- Senior Mappers will be awarded distinctive certificates signed by the president of the NCPMA and the chairman of the
Certification Board and a recognition pin.
